Parade Theme

This year's theme is: "Hometown Pride: Family, Friends, and Fun!"

Parade Rules / General Information

The parade is FREE — there is no entry fee! The parade is 100% volunteer-run & community funded through voluntary donations and from poster sales. To donate to the parade please click here.

Registration:

  •  ALL participants must register in advance via website
  • Registration form will require local contact address for all participants
  • NOTE: The Parade Committee reserves the right to refuse participation of any entry deemed inappropriate for a family-oriented community event.

Giveaways:

Candy or other items may ONLY be passed out or tossed gently underhand to children and other spectators at the curb. Nothing may be thrown or sprayed from any vehicle, float or other parade entry.

Stops to perform:

  • If you stop to perform during the parade, please keep these stops no longer than 30 seconds and then move quickly to catch up to the rest of the parade.
  • Gaps are created by parade participants during the parade. Gaps create safety issues when spectators think the parade is over and move into the path of the oncoming parade.
  • Parade marshals will be stationed along the parade route to keep the parade moving.
  • If you are asked to move along, remember it is for safety’s sake.
  • All parade participants will be required to maintain their designated position even if there is a lag or will be removed from the parade.

Parade Marshalls and Volunteers:

Volunteers from the Emergency Volunteer Corps (EVC) wearing yellow vests. Parade Volunteers will be available at the registration table and throughout the parade route to answer questions. They will be wearing red vests. Please follow the directions of the EVC and Parade Volunteers to ensure a safe and fun parade.

Decoration:

All parade participants—floats, cars, walkers—are required to design and decorate their entry to honor the Fourth of July holiday, and are encouraged to reflect the specific Parade theme for this year”

Position in the Parade:

As a participant, your specific position in the parade order cannot be planned in advance nor guaranteed; while the Chief Marshal will make every effort to put participants with music as part of their float in an appropriate position, please understand that your music may not always be audible to the audience along the parade route.

Safety:

For safety reasons, floats and vehicles must ensure that all riders are securely positioned; the Parade Committee reserves the right to exclude any participants whose arrangement is deemed unsafe (such as a chair attached temporarily to the top of a truck or van)

For safety reasons, vehicles accepted as participants in the Parade who plan to have family and/or friends as ‘walkers’ alongside them do so with the explicit understanding that Parade Route Marshals will monitor their speed, and if gaps emerge because the vehicle is slowing down to accommodate walkers the driver MUST speed up as instructed by the Marshal, and walkers must either step off the Parade route or climb into the vehicle.

Awards

Awards: All entries will receive special ribbons and buttons recognizing their participation.

Trophy's will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category based on originality and effort put into the entry. The decision of the judges is final.
